Action for Girls Empowerment ( AGE – Sierra Leone) is thrilled to share the success of their one-week skills training workshop (11th September – 17th September 2025), where 22 determined girls from four deprived communities (Mangoreh, Makorombo, Bombali Bana and Kathirie) in the Safroko Limba Chiefdom, Northeastern Sierra Leone came together to learn, grow, and create. Alongside their formal education, these young participants were equipped with practical life skills in cake making, Kibbeh preparation, and fried rice cooking—laying the foundation for self-reliance and future entrepreneurship.

This initiative is part of AGE – Sierra Leone ongoing commitment to empower girls through education and hands-on training. By blending academic learning with vocational skills, we aim to nurture confident, capable young women who can shape their own futures and uplift their communities.

From measuring ingredients to mastering flavors, the girls not only gained culinary expertise but also built teamwork, discipline, and pride in their achievements. The aroma of freshly baked cakes and sizzling Kibbeh was matched only by the joy and determination in their eyes.

We celebrate their resilience and can’t wait to see how they use these skills to uplift themselves and their communities.
